The person behind the publishing house
After graduating from the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Arnhem, I worked for years as a graphic designer at various design agencies. The love for books (and magazines) arose during this period. I was commissioned by various publishers to design beautiful books. Even when I became a full-time freelancer in 2009 (under the name Beyond Illusions), these assignments never stopped. The involvement in the end result felt even more intense. Since I started Publishing House Abyssinian, that feeling is of course even greater. Not only a ‘beautiful’ book matters, also that the book may be seen (and read)!
